For small retailers with up to 3 cash registers we recommend Lightspeed, Vend or Shopify POS — cloud-based, with integrated inventory management and good e-commerce connectivity. For more locally-oriented businesses, Orderbird (specifically for Germany, TSE-certified) is also a good choice. The decision depends on your assortment size, omnichannel ambitions and existing systems.
Not always a full online shop — but a digital presence with product availability and click & collect is sensible for almost every retailer. Customers increasingly google products before visiting stores. A Google Business profile with product list, a simple Shopify presence or an Instagram shop can bring significantly more foot traffic with manageable effort. The Technical Security Device (TSE) has been mandatory for electronic cash register systems nationwide since 2024. Older systems must be retrofitted or replaced. TSE solutions are available as hardware USB sticks or cloud-based. We check your current system, clarify whether retrofitting is possible and recommend a compliant replacement system if needed — including notification to the tax office.
The technical connection is made via a shared inventory management system (ERP) that supplies both the POS and the online shop with real-time stock levels. Common setups: Shopify as base with POS extension, Lightspeed with integrated e-commerce, or WooCommerce/Magento with POS integration. We analyze your current state and choose the most integration-capable solution for your situation.
Digitalization consulting starts in the mid three-figure monthly range. System costs vary by solution — cloud-based POS systems from €50-200/month, e-commerce platforms from €30/month upward. Through BAFA funding up to 50% of consulting costs can be reimbursed. We create a transparent cost plan before every project.
